The paved Town Branch Trail runs through the park, offering running and walking opportunities. A run on Ruffian Way through the park is scenic and challenging 2 miles out and back, or you can combine Masterson Station Park with the Town Branch Trail for a 4-mile route.

The park also hosts numerous events throughout the year, including soccer tournaments, organized walks, and the Lexington Lions Bluegrass Fair in July. The fair is packed with fun for the entire family and is a great reason to visit Bluegrass Extended Stay. A few of the many amenities include a skateboard park, basketball courts, and a playground.

Masterson Station Park is home to a unique equestrian facility and is utilized by horse enthusiasts from all over the state and many surrounding states. A typical competition sees participants from 30 states and 3 foreign countries staying in local hotels, eating at area restaurants, and spending money in the community.

The Park features a dressage complex, a cross-country course, and hundreds of acres of open riding spaces that are available to the public at little or no cost. The Park also hosts a variety of events and clinics throughout the year.

Other facilities at the Park include a dog park, soccer fields, a playground, and two large fenced areas for horses. It is a great place for families and friends to enjoy the outdoors in Lexington, KY. 

Dog Parks

Several dog parks are located at Masterson Station Park Lexington KY. These dog parks feature fenced-in areas for dogs of different sizes, benches, water hydrants, and plenty of open space for running and jumping. Pets are welcome outside of the fenced-in dog parks, but strict leash guidelines must be followed at all times.

These off-leash dog parks are perfect for letting your canine companion burn off boundless energy and play with friends in a safe environment. Masterson Station offers four dog parks in total, as well as a number of other amenities for pups and their owners. These include a paved walking trail, a splash pad, and various events throughout the year. Other amenities include a children’s playground, horseback riding trails, and massive open grass fields. LYSA Soccer Complex

The LYSA Soccer Complex at Masterson Station Park Lexington KY is home to 7 multipurpose youth sports fields. It is also a host to events, including weddings and corporate meetings. The complex is available year-round. It is located off Highway 4 between Exit 115 (Newtown Pike) and Leestown Rd. Exit.

Founded in 1977, the Lexington Youth Soccer Association is a recreational youth soccer league for players ages 3-18. It is a volunteer self-supporting organization and a member of both KYSA and USYSA. The club is committed to providing a comprehensive soccer experience for players of all levels while emphasizing player development and teamwork. LYSA also promotes and supports the game of soccer in Lexington. The organization has won several state championships and has produced a number of college and professional soccer players.


Masterson Station Park is home to a variety of events and attractions. Its fairgrounds are used by locals to host events and festivals throughout the year. The fairgrounds also provide a place for horses and other animals to graze.

A large portion of the park is dedicated to equestrians, with a complex that offers stalls and an arena. The facility hosts a number of events and horsemanship classes.

The Bluegrass Fair is held annually at the park along Leestown Road for 11 days. The fair is sponsored by the Lexington Lions Club and provides a family-friendly experience for residents of Lexington. Visitors can enjoy a number of rides, food, and music at the fair.
